ScanSays helps you understand a report. Your doctor helps you understand what it means for you.

ScanSays does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your results and before making any decision about your health.

What ScanSays is

ScanSays is a patient-education tool. It reads the text of a medical report written by a healthcare professional, explains it in plain language and illustrates the findings on a 3D anatomical model.

What it is not

  • It is not a medical device and does not interpret ultrasound, MRI, CT or X-ray images.
  • It does not diagnose conditions, assess risk, predict outcomes or recommend treatment.
  • It does not replace your doctor, radiologist, sonographer or any other healthcare professional.

Accuracy

Reading reports automatically can go wrong, especially with handwriting, poor photos or missing pages. We flag uncertain readings for you to confirm and always show the original text, but explanations may still contain errors. If anything in ScanSays differs from your report, your report is correct.

The 3D body

The 3D body is a typical anatomical model, scaled and marked using measurements from your report. It is an illustration, not an image of your body, and sizes may be adjusted so small findings are visible.

Pregnancy results

For pregnancy scans, we restate what was measured and what the report itself says. We never describe a baby as healthy or unhealthy. The baby model shows a typical pose scaled to the measurements, not your baby.

Emergencies

If you think you or someone else needs urgent care, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not use ScanSays in an emergency.
