What it means

Your report
“No hydronephrosis.”Is that good news?

Yes. It means your kidney isn't swollen. Most people leave the clinic holding sentences like this, with nobody to ask. ScanSays answers them, line by line.

  • CalculusA stoneShown at its measured size, where the report says it is.
  • HepatomegalyA larger-than-usual liverWe draw the liver to the span the report gives, in cm.
  • Cardiothoracic ratio 0.56Heart width compared with chest widthUnder 0.50 is the usual range on a chest X-ray.
  • Lower poleThe bottom end of the organSo the stone sits low in the kidney, not in the middle.
  • TI-RADS 3The scale's “mildly suspicious” levelYour doctor decides whether a follow-up scan is needed.
  • Echogenic focusA tiny bright spot on the scanExplained in calm, accurate words. Your care team decides what happens next.
How it works

Four steps from a folded page to a clear picture.

1

Say what it is

Ultrasound, MRI, CT or X-ray. And who it's for: you, a parent, a partner.

2

Snap the pages

Photos or a PDF. If the report mentions an attached page you didn't add, we'll ask for it.

3

Check our reading

Every organ the report mentions, in a short list. Handwritten or blurry numbers wait for you to confirm.

Nothing is guessed.
4

See it in 3D

Tap an organ to fly to it. The report's own words sit beside every finding.

What it reads

The scans people actually get.

A size changes the organ's scale. A stone, cyst or nodule is placed at its true size. A change like fatty liver shows as a change in texture.

Abdomen & kidneys

Liver, gallbladder, spleen and both kidneys. Stones, cysts, enlargement, fatty liver and swelling of the kidney.

Pregnancy

Dating, anomaly, growth and twin scans. The womb, placenta, fluid and baby are drawn to scale for the week.

We restate what was measured and never call a baby healthy or unhealthy. The baby's sex isn't shown.

For the people you look after

Read your mother's report in her language.

Keep scans for your parents, your partner and yourself in one place. Each person's results open in the language they read best.

The report's own words always stay exactly as the lab wrote them, so you can match them to the paper. Nothing is sent away to be translated.

Our promises

A picture of what your report says. Never a diagnosis.

The original words are one tap away

Open the report text beside any organ, with its line highlighted, and check our reading yourself.

You confirm anything uncertain

Handwritten or blurry numbers are flagged for you. Nothing is drawn from a reading you haven't checked.

Your doctor decides

We explain a report a doctor already wrote. Care decisions stay with your own doctor, and every screen says so.
